WRITING WEEK 4

This week for writing we have been work on our speechs a bit more and fixing thing in it. here is my speech.

Do You know anyone who's living in poverty? Poverty is a terrible thing that no one should live through not even the worst of people. Poverty is a state or condition in which a person or community lacks the financial resources and essentials for a minimum standard of living. Poverty can be a harmful thing leading to Little or no education and Under the age of eighteen and Working in places like farms or agriculture. Can you imagine what this would be like?

Today, around 8.9 percent of the world’s total population is still practicing open defecation. Open defecation means people are defecating outside, whether that be in a field or behind a home or a bush. When people defecate outside, human feces find their way into food and water sources, polluting and causing disease among people in those communities.

Money isn’t a complete measure of poverty. Other types of poverty include not having access to work, health, nutrition, education, sanitation, housing and more. For those able to move out of poverty, progress is often temporary and is very difficult as you can imagine. Food  insecurity, and climate change are a threat to their gains and may put  them back into poverty. You won't believe that about 13% of people globally do not have access to electricity, and 40% of people globally don’t have access to clean fuels for cooking. Can you believe that?

Now we are going to take a dark turn. Waiting is just terrifying. There is so much happening around the world and we are just sitting here doing nothing to stop this. There are about 40 million to 60 million people who will fall into extreme poverty that means they are living under $1.90 per day in 2020.The global extreme poverty rate could rise by 0.3 to 0.7 percentage points, to around 9 percent in 2020.

Have you wrote a speech before?

READING WEEK 11

This week for reading we worked on visualising and the 5 senses Sight, sound, smell, taste and Touch. There were 4 books and we had to choose 1 of them and get 5 texts that show at least 4 scenes. After we chose the text we put down why we could relate to the text, taste was really hard and so was the smell . You really had to think about the text and read between the lines. Here is my work about the 5 scenes! link
